Which are the diseases?
There are many types of liver disease and disorders that affect the liver. They are Cirrhosis, hepatitis, hemochromatosis, Wilson's disease, liver cancer, liver disease due to alcohol, primary biliary cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis and fatty liver. Now a person affected with autoimmune hepatitis has autoantibodies circulating in the bloodstream that cause the immune system to attack
the liver causing dangerous to health.
About cirrhosis, it is the result of chronic liver disease that causes scarring of the liver and liver dysfunction also it has many complications, including accumulation of fluid in the abdomen, bleeding disorders, increased pressure in the blood vessels and confusion or a change in the level of consciousness.
Alcoholic liver disease usually occurs after years of excessive drinking and the longer the duration of alcohol use as well as the greater the consumption of alcohol , the greater the probability of developing liver disease. And acute alcoholic hepatitis can result from binge drinking, and may be result to death if severe. Another liver disease is Hemochromatosis that is caused due to absorption of too much iron from food and instead of secreting the excess iron; the iron is stored throughout the body, including the liver and pancreas. The excess iron can damage these organs and it is a hereditary disease that can lead to liver disease, liver failure, liver cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Wilson's disease is the retention of too much copper in the liver and instead of releasing the copper into the bile, the liver retains the copper. Eventually the damaged liver releases copper into the bloodstream and this is also a hereditary disease that can cause damage to the kidneys, brain and eyes, and lead to severe brain damage, liver failure and death.
